Parcels, Postboxes, and Proof of Posting

With over 110,000 available around the UK, Postboxes are ideally suited for a quick and easy local drop off option for your parcels. Available 24/7 for your convenience.

NEW! Now you can get proof of posting when you post a parcel at any postbox or parcel postbox. All you need is the Royal Mail app - two clicks and you're done.

There are two main types of Postboxes that can be used to drop off your parcels:

  1. Regular Postboxes
    These postboxes are not just for letters! They're a great drop off option for your small parcels (if they can fit through a letterbox). 

  2. Parcel Postboxes
    If your parcel is too big for a regular postbox but still no larger than 44cm x 35cm x 16cm then our Parcel Postboxes may be the perfect solution.

The maximum Parcel size allowed into our Parcel Postboxes is 44cm x 35cm x 16cm

 
Any Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed items or Royal Mail International Tracked Returns without a barcode on the label, must be posted at a Post Office branch and cannot be dropped off at a Parcel Postbox.

 
Parcel Postboxes are only available for pre-paid items. If you are sending using a Royal Mail Business Account, you can find details of how to prepare your items and where to drop them off here.

 
Your letters and parcels must have a barcoded label in order to get proof of posting at a Post box. Services which can be used are: Tracked 48 and Tracked 24 (including with Signature and Age verification service options), 1st Class and 2nd Class services, Signed For, International Standard and Economy and Tracked Returns.

You won’t be able to get a proof of Posting for Special Delivery, International Tracked (including Signed), nor any letters where stamps have been used.

Please note: Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed items must be dropped off at a Post Office branch or Royal Mail Customer Service Point.
