Royal Mail App terms of use
1. Your use of the App
1.1 Please read these terms carefully before using the Royal Mail mobile application (the App). These terms constitute a legal agreement between You and Royal Mail and govern Your use of the App and its content. By using the App You agree that You have read and accept these terms. If You do not accept these terms then You must stop using the App and delete it from Your mobile device.
1.2 In these terms and conditions, Royal Mail, We or Us means Royal Mail Group Limited and companies in the Royal Mail Group.
1.3 These terms do not govern the provision of goods and services provided by Us through or via the App, which are governed by Our separate product terms and conditions and any specific terms applicable to the relevant product or service. The terms and conditions for Royal Mail products and services can be found here.
1.4 You can now add a proof of posting in the App. Please note that Royal Mail’s policies will apply in any event that you wish to use this proof of posting to make a claim.
1.5 Payments taken through the App are processed by third party payment providers Worldpay and Paypal and will therefore be subject to the terms and conditions of those payment providers.

3. Security and Privacy
3.1 We take the security and privacy of Our systems and Our customers' information very seriously. We review Our systems and data to ensure the best possible service to Royal Mail customers. There are specific offences for unauthorised actions against computer systems and data, and We will investigate any such actions with a view to prosecuting and/or taking civil proceedings to recover damages against those responsible.
3.2 By using the App, You agree to the collection and use of Your data in accordance with the terms of Our Privacy Notice and the specific customer terms and conditions relevant to the different products and services available through the royalmail.com website.
3.3 Certain functions of the App may request access to other data stored on Your device (e.g. Contacts or the Camera). You have the option whether or not to allow Us to do so but certain functionality may not be available if You choose not to do so.
3.4 You are responsible for the safekeeping of Your device and the security of Your log in details and password and should not disclose them to any other person. If You choose to stay logged in on Your device You anyone who uses Your device could have access to the data in the App.
3.5 If You chose to enable login using Your fingerprint or face ID (biometrics) where applicable please be aware that Royal Mail does not have any access to the biometric information.
3.6 If You suspect that a third party is using Your account please notify Us promptly at royalmail.com/contact-us.
3.7 We may send You notifications to Your device. You can choose not to receive these notifications at any time, but please be aware that stopping notifications from the App will not affect other notifications You may receive from Royal Mail by email or SMS.
4. Content and Accuracy of Information
4.1 The information on the App, including any downloadable content, is provided on an "as is" basis. We make reasonable efforts to ensure that the information on the App is correct but We cannot guarantee that the content of the App is accurate, complete or up to date.
4.2 We do not guarantee that the App or any downloadable content is free from bugs or viruses, without defect or compatible with other software or operating systems.
4.3 We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that any content We make available on the App for downloading (including software or any electronic file) is suitable for downloading, installation and use by third parties.
4.4 Some information on the App is taken from sources external to Royal Mail or is of a type that changes frequently. In particular, We do not guarantee the accuracy and currency of information about prices, compensation limits and conditions, delivery times, packaging requirements, posting restrictions and prohibitions and conditions of posting in countries outside the United Kingdom.
4.5 We do not necessarily share the opinions expressed, or endorse the material appearing, in external content published on the App.
4.6 We may make changes to the contents of the App (including to the descriptions and prices of goods and services advertised) at any time and without notice.
4.7 We accept no liability for any loss or damage caused by the downloading, installation or use of any such content, and the general exclusions and limitations set out in the 'Our Liability' section of these terms and conditions shall apply to the downloading, installation or use of such content.
5. Our liability
5.1 We will not be responsible for any loss or damage which may be suffered by You as a result of Your use of the App or Your use of, or reliance on, any of the content contained in the App.
5.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, We (i) exclude all representations and warranties relating to the App and its contents, including in relation to any inaccuracies or omissions in the App and (ii) exclude all liability for loss or damage You may suffer as a result of using the App. This includes (without limitation) direct loss, loss of business or profits (whether or not the loss of such profits was foreseeable, arose in the normal course of things or You have advised Us of the possibility of such potential loss) and indirect, consequential and incidental damages.
5.3 The above exclusions and limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law and, in particular, do not exclude Our liability for death or personal injury caused by Our negligence. Nothing in these terms and conditions restricts or affects Your statutory rights as a consumer.
6. Intellectual property rights
6.1 All intellectual property rights in the App, and the material contained on it, are owned or licensed by the Royal Mail Group.
6.2 You must not use any of Our trademarks or other intellectual property rights without Our express written permission.
6.3 The name ‘Royal Mail’, the Royal Mail cruciform logo, the name ‘Parcelforce Worldwide’ and the Parcelforce Worldwide logo are registered trademarks of the Royal Mail Group in the United Kingdom and other countries. The names of Our goods and services featured on the App are also trademarks owned by the Royal Mail Group.
6.4 All design, text, graphics, their selection and arrangement, and all software compilations, underlying source code, software (including applets) and all other material on the App are copyright of Royal Mail Group Limited or its related companies or licensors.
7. Your Account
7.1 You may use the App to register for an account with Us.
7.2 If You choose, or You are provided with, a user identification code, password or any other piece of information as part of Our security procedures, You must treat such information as confidential and not disclose it to any third party.
7.3 We have the right to disable any user identification code or password, whether chosen by You or allocated by Us, at any time, if in Our reasonable opinion You have failed to comply with these terms and conditions.
7.4 If You know or suspect that anyone other than You knows Your user identification code or password, You must promptly notify Us at royalmail.com/contact-us.
7.5 We may cancel Your registration for the App or any service hosted on the royalmail.com website if You breach these terms and conditions or the customer terms and conditions for any service.
7.6 If You delete the App from Your device Your account will remain active so that it will be available if You use the App on other devices. If You want to delete Your Account please make a request via royalmail.com/contact-us.
8. Links from the App
8.1 We do not monitor or review the content of other parties' websites that are linked from the App. Opinions expressed or material appearing on such websites are not necessarily shared or endorsed by Us. We are not the publisher of such opinions or material.
9. Availability of the App
9.1 We do not guarantee that the App will always be available. Access may be uninterrupted, restricted or suspended for technical reasons or if Your account has been terminated or blocked.
9.2 The App is intended for use in the United Kingdom and We do not represent that it is appropriate for use in any other location. Some products and services featured on the App are only available within the United Kingdom, or in relation to postings from the United Kingdom.
9.3 We may choose to withdraw the App and terminate these terms and conditions at any time.
10. General
10.1 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
10.2 If You are a consumer, all disputes arising out of Your access to the App are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If You are a resident of Northern Ireland, You may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if You are a resident of Scotland, You may also bring proceedings in Scotland. If You are a business, all disputes arising out of Your access to this website are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
10.3 If any of these terms or conditions is decided to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason (including, but not limited to, the exclusions and limitations set out above) then these terms will be read as if such invalid or unenforceable provisions are deleted.
